 Welcome to the IICS website and the 2018-19 school year!
 
I am very excited to be joining the school, and I look forward to working alongside the many dedicated educators who have built such a fine reputation for IICS over the years. Our school offers a rich and dynamic curriculum in a caring, supportive environment based on relationships of trust and mutual respect. These are the hallmarks of a successful school, and these qualities are evident throughout IICS in the form of curious, friendly students and adults who are all actively engaged in the process of learning.
 
IICS has developed a variety of purposeful spaces that promote learning for young people. The early years classrooms and playspaces at both Hisar and Marmara promote interactive, play-based learning for our youngest students. Our Primary classrooms and collaborative spaces facilitate inquiry-based learning and development of the whole child. We emphasize strong core skills, and our use of technology promotes rich learning and the importance of digital citizenship in today’s world. Our new MakerSpace enables students and staff to explore diverse, hands-on, and creative problem-solving tasks that reflect the learning that kids need today for success in their coming years. 
 
Throughout our school, the philosophy of the Primary Years Program (PYP) is thriving. Students are curious, engaged, and encouraged to take action from their learning. Parents play a vital role in the success of their kids, and our teachers communicate regularly about the learning programme.  We encourage parents to engage with their kids learning through SeeSaw, our digital portfolio platform that is one of the ways student learning is acknowledged, shared and celebrated at IICS.

Dear Parents and Students, Welcome to the IICS Secondary School. On our website you will be able to find information about the many varied aspects of our educational program. At IICS we aim to develop our students’ skills and interests across a very broad spectrum of challenges. Consider your time at IICS to be an opportunity to develop the whole person through programs aimed at challenging and improving the mind, body, and spirit.

At IICS we find take pride in the Community aspect of our name. Positive relationships, mutual support, open communication and collaboration are a priority throughout our school and programs. From the classroom to class trips, staff peer coaching to student self-directed study groups, athletics, arts and activities to service initiatives – developing individual skills and expertise while contributing to the overall strength of the group, class, team, or organization is essential. In so doing, IICS fosters the personal, social and academic development that support students' future opportunities and successes. 

In our ever-changing educational landscape, a commitment to teamwork, effective communication, and authentic learning experiences coupled with traditional content knowledge positions IICS students to be among the leaders and innovators of tomorrow.
