IICS offers a comprehensive program of co-curricular athletic, academic, and creative activities for students in grade 2 through 12. Co-curricular after school activities in the Primary school run for six week blocks and offer a range of different options. Secondary school co-curriculars may run for a season or all year long, depending on the activity.
Participation in co-curricular activities adds an extra dimension to the educational experience at IICS. Throughout the co-curricular experiences, participation, cooperation and good sportsmanship are developed and reinforced. Coaches and sponsors are role models for participants, fostering positive attitudes, teamwork and respect for others. IICS endeavors to provide a program of student activities designed to develop self-directed, responsible, and social individuals. The program provides the opportunity for each student to develop interests, skills and attitudes contributing to the physical and emotional development of the student. It is our goal for all co-curricular experiences to be positive and meaningful for students.
IICS participates and competes in the Central and Eastern European Schools Association (CEESA) athletics and activities which provides opportunities for Middle School (Grades 6 through 8) and High School (Grades 9 through 12) students. For most activities students have the opportunity to compete against, and participate with, local schools as well as other international schools.Examples of Secondary activities include Knowledge Bowl, Math Counts, Drama Productions, Model United Nations, Choir, Soccer, Volleyball, Softball, and Basketball, to name a few.
IICS follows a user pay policy when students travel. Students are responsible for their own travel costs and contribute to the travel of their coaches/chaperones. Parents are notified in advance of all associated costs. Comprehensive information of our Secondary co-curriculars guidelines can be found in our Athletic and Activities Handbook.
